Om Mani Padme Hum is a six syllable Sanskrit, meaning om as the beginning of a sacred chant, Mani meaning jewel, Padme meaning lotus and Hum meaning enlightenment. The lotus is a jewel flourishing out of the murky waters it grows in becoming a beautiful flower floating above its muddy chaos beneath. Om is the sound and essence of creation vibrating in all that is creation. Enlightenment is the attainment of Nirvana in a lifetime. It can take numerous lifetimes to attain enlightenment. There are many bodhisattva’s who walk among us who seek enlightenment through loving and serving with humility, grace and ease.
